Hellenic United's newly created Over-30 "B" team finished their first ever indoor session on December 28, 2010.
The goals for the team were:
1. To come-together as a group and learn each other's strengths and weaknesses, as well as decide which players will form our Over-30 "B" outdoor season team.
2. To have fun playing soccer.
3. To finish at least with a 50-50 record.
Coach Mario Mamalis commented the following on his team's first session:
"I believe this was a successful beginning. All guys played strong, we got better game after game and we met all our goals. This was also a good test to see which players can seriously commit to the team. I can say that we have a strong core group of people and we will build around it. We managed to reach all our goals including a 50-50 record and the fact that most of our losses were by one goal deficit means that we are on the right track."
"For the next session there will be some new additions to the team, to replace players that have decided to leave the team. We will continue on course to build a respectable O-30 "B" team that can compete in the outdoor league at a better than average level. Our goal is to reach the final for the second session at McCook and as always have fun playing soccer."
