Kollias inspires HUAC performance in home opener

A beginning of a new era began its quest today as Hellenic United's newly formed Over-40 team started their Premier Soccer League season on the right foot with a convincing 5-2 victory over Bulgarian side Botev Chicago .
 
Although most of HUAC's Over-40 players had a few practices and scrimmages together before today they played with an admirable amount of cohesiveness and nobody could fault any player's effort and intensity as it was an all out attack from the start of the game.

HUAC O30 "White" Drops Season Opener

Hellenic United O30 "White" kicked off its inaugural Premier Soccer League Over-30 season losing to St. Charles Celtics Red by the score of 4-2 at the East Side Sports Complex in St, Charles, Illinois.

The PSL O30 Division newcomers did not get off to a good start as the St. Charles Celtics opened the scoring just seven minutes into the match. A Hellenic United defensive miscue led to a "gift" for home side St. Charles Celtics, which was converted for an early 1-0 lead. It was only time before the strong wind and another HUAC defense mishap led to a St. Charles Celtics 2-0 early lead.

HUAC wins NSL 2nd Division Sectional Title & Promotion

Hellenic United Athletic Club won the National Soccer League Division 2 sectional title and promotion to Division 1 on Friday, March 19, 2010 by beating out Arabian FC 8-0. This was the first year of participation for HUAC in Division 2.

HUAC finished the 2009/2010 NSL indoor season with a record of 13-1-2 in 16 games played and with 76 goals for and 20 goals againt (best in both Red and Blue Sections).

The Second Division is very well known for its ups and downs, and this was absolutely the case even this year, when it was only until the very last two games that everyone knew their destiny as regards the place in the standings.
