HUAC "White" Make Thrilling Comeback

HUAC "White" took on Stare Byki Blue this past Sunday at the College of DuPage in a key match for the lead in the Blue Section of the National Soccer League's 1st Division.

Stare Byki came out strong and took control of the game right from the start enjoying most of the possession for the first 25 minutes of play. During this period they were able to place 2 goals in the back of the HUAC net leaving HUAC with a monumental task to climb.

HUAC seemed shocked to give up the early goals but they did not put their heads down. After the 2nd goal HUAC started gaining more possession and at the 40th minute mark finally got the break they needed. The Stare Byki goalie pulled a “Robert Green” and fumbled a long shot in the air, the ball slipped behind him and Ryan Widdel was able to pounce on it and do a back heel into the net. The 1st half finished on a positive note at 2-1.

HUAC "Blue" fire four past Deportivo

HUAC's "Blue" team scored three times in the second half, once in the first, and played impressive defense throughout in a 4-2 HUAC "Blue" victory over visiting Deportivo Colomex on Sunday at the College of DuPage.

"I was pleased with how we played in the second half," said caretaker coach Spiro Arsenis filling in for head coach Minos Vlamakis. "We worked hard, we hustled. A lot of the goals we scored were very good goals. The free-kick delivery by Alen Malkoc was a thing of beauty and I just wish he steps to the plate for these kicks all the time."

The defense, Arsenis said, was just as good.

"The boys worked hard in this game on winning the ball and getting good distribution on the passes," he said. "I think they did a good job on that as a whole, and that helped us on the attack, also."

Park Ridge Rogues torch HUAC O40

Something is just not going well with the HUAC O40 team, as in the past two matches a 10 minute spell full of defensive errors has decided the outcome of both games.

HUAC's players looked distraught and felt deflated after being down 3-0  as early as the 30th minute of the game and after that both teams just went through the motions in the sweltering temperatures barely committing 100% to their teams cause. Chances in front of either goal were few and far between and the match tamely continued and finally ended 4-0 in favor of the visitors.

All 3 first half goals were cheaply conceded as the HUAC defense failed time and time again to pick up the Park Ridge Rogues center-forward who effortlessly scored unopposed in the box and each time exposed the helpless Hatziaggellou in goal.
