HUAC "White" took on the West Indies Jets this past Sunday (5/15/10, 2-0) in their first home game of the year at the College of DuPage.
The Jets have been traditionally a very strong, veteran club of the National Soccer League but HUAC was prepared to meet the challenge at hand.
HUAC took control of the game right from the start but was not able to create any quality chances in the first 45 minutes of play that saw a 0-0 scoreline.
HUAC maintained the majority of the possession during the second half and started to create some quality opportunities. HUAC were finally able to break through in the75th minute of the match when on a free-kick delivered by HUAC midfielder Nick Zinn the ball was deflected into the path of Norman Astudillo who was able to slot it away with ease on his HUAC debut.

HUAC "White" took on last year's 2nd Division Champions Brusfa FC this past Sunday hoping for the chance that would redeem the team after a disappointing loss to the start of the season against current 1st Division Red Section leaders Das Magic.
Due to the "Mother's Day" holiday HUAC was only able to muster a 12 player roster who in turn put in a great performance against a strong Brusfa FC side.
HUAC was able to take control of the game right from the start and kept that momentum going for the most part of the first half finishing off with a couple quality opportunities.
One of them came in the 35th minute of the game when Ryan Widell won a free kick outside of the Brusfa FC penalty box after completing a strong run. Widell was also the one to deliver the kick that send the ball screaching towards the top corner of the Brusfa goal to open the scoreline for HUAC at 1-0 before the end of the first 45.

Sometimes it is hard to understand what initiated such a collapse after the 70th minute of the game against FC Soccer Place this past Sunday that completely destroyed the decent effort put by HUAC up to that point of the game as they were only trailing 1-0 from a breakaway goal in the 27th minute vs the much more experienced and very talented Polish side.
Coach Yiannis Kosmas spoke to the players before the game and emphasized the importance of tight marking in defense, and for the midfielders to close down spaces and not leave their opponents alone as they are deadly with their outside shooting and for the most part, HUAC followed those instructions to the letter of the law.
Call it tiredness or just a lack of concentration in the final 20 minutes of the encounter as individual errors ( and everyone needs to accept their fair share of the blame ) brought this embarrassing score line to light.
