Hellenic United Athletic Club (HUAC) "Over-30" are champions of the 2009 National Soccer League (N.S.L.) outdoor season. They took the trophy with a 4-2 victory in penalties (regular game ended in a 1-1 tie) over Lake Shore Soccer Club in the league finals on Sunday, October 25, 2009.
HUAC drew blood first in the 18th minute of the game as Petros Ninis picked up a loose ball in the Lake Shore penalty box and slotted it in the back of the net to make the score 1-0.
Lake Shore equalized 15 minutes later after a spot kick sent the ball sailing towards Andreas Papakostas' upper 90 to make the score 1-1.

HUAC Blue Clinches Playoff Spot With 6-0 Drubbing of Warta

HUAC Blue capped off a very successful inaugural season by clinching a playoff spot with their 6-0 victory over CKS Warta on October 4th at College of Du Page. Hellenic United still has one regular season match remaining (v. BH Lillies) to be played on October 7th at Olympic Park in Schaumburg, but their convincing victory over relegated Warta assured the NSL newcomers of second place in the Blue Division.
Hellenic United got on the board early with a strike from Zekail Gezafer in the 5th minute of the match and never looked back. Gezafer notched a second tally later in the half to go along with goals from Alen Smjecanin, Nermin Dautovic, Elias Litos, and goalkeeper David Barszczowski for the final 6-0 scoreline.

HU Drops Heartbreaker to Jahbat

Despite having an advantage in time of possession and scoring opportunities, Hellenic United dropped a 2-1 decision to Jahbat at Pottawottomie Park Septmeber 27th. Hellenic United now finds itself needing a win in one of their last two matches to secure a playoff spot.
Hellenic United got on the board first with a tally from Danilo Acamovic at the ten minute mark. Hellenic United controlled the match for most of the first half with excellent mdifield play, exerting constant pressure on Jahbat's keeper, yet couldn't come up with a second tally.
HU was dealt a serious blow early in the second half when fullback Firas Abraham went down with an ankle injury. Nermin Dautovic was pulled back from midfield into Abraham's fullback spot for shorthanded HU. Jahbat seized the opportunity and went on the offensive, scoring two second half goals (the last with about five minutes to play), both off of set pieces, to come away with a 2-1 victory.
