Hellenic United White took on Juanacatlan for the 1st time this season at College of Dupage. Hellenic United White was prepared and focused this week as they put in one of their better performances of the year.
For the first 15 minutes of the game both teams missed a couple opportunities to open up the scoring. HU White opened up the scoring in the 20th minute when Rob Szklanecki beautifully hit a one timer to make it 1-0 Hellenic United. 10 minutes later during a scramble in the goal box one of Juanacatlan player’s fell on the ball and swatted it with his hand giving a penalty to HU White. Paul Stellatos made quick work of it and made it 2-0. The half ended 2-0.
Shortly after the 2nd half started, HU White was awarded a free kick about 10 yards outside the box. Mario Mele stepped up and hit a knuckler in the right corner to give HU White a commanding 3-0 lead. Around the 60th minute mark, a player from Juanacatlan separated their shoulder and the game had to be stopped for about 10 minutes till the paramedics came. After the restart, HU White made sure to finish what it had started when Napo Brendaro scored his 2nd in two games to give HU White a 4-0 lead. Paul Stellatos topped it off with another goal in the 85th minute. The game finished 5-0 as the HU White defense along with goalkeeper Spiro Villis put in a solid performance to keep the sheet clean.
Hellenic United White has a break from their NSL schedule this week but is making preparations for the 4th Annual Hellenic Tournament that will be held at Olympic Park in Schaumburg this weekend. Please come out and show your support to the HU White team this weekend.
