This past Sunday HUAC "White" took on the Chicago Thunder at the Elizabeth Conkey Forest Preserve under a sea of blue skies.
HUAC wore their beautiful blue uniforms for the first time this season to see if that could shake away some of the team's early season woes.
Chicago Thunder had other things in mind as they opened the scoring in the 10th minute of the game when a long ball was not properly cleared by the HUAC defense and a Chicago Thunder striker slotted it away to take the lead 1-0.
The beginning of the second half was a scrappy affair as both teams tried to gain control. At the 60th minute a Chicago Thunder midfielder made it 2-1 when he dribbled across the field and shot it across his body with his left foot to score in the opposite corner. A few minutes later Chicago Thunder scored another to make it 3-1. HUAC tried to mount a comeback and Ryan Widdell made it 3-2 in the 80th minute with a shot that deflected of a defender and went in. For the last 10 minutes HUAC pushed hard to get the equalizing goal but was unable to do so and the match ended 3-2 in the favor of the Chicago Thunder.
"Man of the Match" honors goes to HUAC White's goalie Ogar Khoshabo. Ogar provided great leadership from the back and made several great saves that kept HUAC in the game.
Special thanks goes out to HUAC O-30 players Mario Mele and Nick Penesis for coming out to help.
